Sports and Recreation

The Recreation Ground is jointly managed by the Much Hadham Sports Association and Much Hadham Parish Council.

Much Hadham Sports Association is a registered charity (302432) and was created in 1947 through a deed of conveyance of the Recreation Ground by the Norman family of Moor Place.

Their responsibilities are to maintain, manage and manage the use of the Recreation Ground by sports clubs, organisations and bodies for the purpose of games and recreations, which we do through a committee comprising the officers and other members elected in accordance with the constitution.

Much Hadham Sports Association is responsible for the facilities used by the member clubs, including:

  • Insuring the facilities
  • Utilities
  • Rates
  • Fire equipment
  • Machinery repairs and replacement
  • Maintaining the recreation ground
  • Car Park

Much Hadham Parish Council is responsible for:

  • The Pavilion
  • The Children’s Playground

 

Current Sports Clubs

Much Hadham Bowling and Croquet Club
Much Hadham Bowling & Croquet Club was founded in 1920 and is affiliated to Bowls England, Hertfordshire County B.A. and also East Herts B.A. The Club is situated on the recreation ground and has 6 grass bowling rinks and a bowls pavilion which is fully equipped with changing facilities, toilets, kitchen, licensed bar, and dining/social area. Bowling Club membership is open to everyone both for bowling and social membership. Much Hadham Tennis Club
Much Hadham Tennis Club has 3 hard courts, all with floodlights and is situated on the Much Hadham recreation ground. Pickle Ball is also available on court 3 for all active members.

The club has around 120 members and welcomes players from Much Hadham and elsewhere.  The club  is open to anyone who wants to join, regardless of age or ability. For more information click on the logo or email us on: muchhadhamtennis@gmail.com

 

 

The Much Hadham Recreation Trust is a registered charity (1187002) that plays a vital role in bringing our village and wider parish together, supporting a wide range of recreational and social activities, as well as essential local facilities used by residents and visitors. The Trust had overall responsibility for the annual Village Fete, and Much Hadham Movie Nights.
